Raising Awareness – Early Detection & Fundraising

Keep up to date: Liz’s live facebook feed

In June 2017 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer with a 5% Cure Rate. I was not detected early and was diagnosed with a different cancer early in the year.  I am passionate about communicating with women about the tests, while not a  guarantee, that you can do which could show markers for Ovarian cancer.  Why? Because there are no early screening tests currently available. Read my story which provides the basic information you need to take to your doctor.

I am currently doing chemo and have had an operation (full hysterectomy and debalking) in between my chemo

I want to let others know and fundraise for the cause and had my first successful fundraiser on Friday 14th July 2017 at the Wangi RSL Club where I shaved my head on my own terms. You can read about this event on the Wangi RSL Head Shave events page. My next event is the Teal Sisters Walk – October 21st 2018 where groups are forming together to walk on the same day in  NSW, South Australia & Victoria. To read more about the event see my Teal Sisters Walk events page. Your participation or support would be appreciated.

My donations page gives the current and past donations links. If you don’t donate let women know about the tests as stated in the “my story” section of this web site. Please also share the Ovarian Cancer statistics which is a graphic that shows the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer, as well as the stats on one simple page. Also see other links from the cancer council and world infographic sheets available from Ovarian Cancer Australia
